Meet John

I'm John Burbidge — a painter with 15 years of hands-on experience painting houses inside and out. I started this site in 2011 because I kept seeing homeowners make the same avoidable mistakes, and I wanted to give them the same practical knowledge I use on the job.

Everything on this site comes from real experience. The videos, the guides, the equipment recommendations — it's all based on what I've actually done, tested, and found to work. No sponsored content, no affiliate-first recommendations. Just honest advice. John is also a writer whose work has been published in various magazines and newspapers. Visit www.johnburbidge.com to read some of his work.

About This Site

How to Paint a House Right™ has been online since 2011. It started as a small collection of tips and has grown into a full library of free video tutorials, PDF guides, and equipment recommendations.

The goal has always been the same: give everyday homeowners the knowledge to do the job right the first time, without hiring a professional for every step.
